Know Your Identity and Purpose as a Child of God

Knowing who you are in Christ is essential to fulfilling your divine purpose. God created you with a unique identity. The more you understand who you were created to be, the more power you have over lies that try to keep you from fulfilling your purpose.

God created you in His image. Genesis 1:27 “So God did just that. He created humanity in His image, created them male and female.”

God loves you with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3 “I appeared to them from far away and said: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love — out of faithfulness I have drawn you close.’”

You are precious in His eyes. Psalms 72:14 “He will liberate them from the fierce sting of persecution and violence; in his eyes, their blood is precious.”

God sent His son, Jesus, to earth to die for your sins. John 3:16 “For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life.”

You are reconciled with God through Jesus’ gift. Romans 5:10 “If we were in the heat of combat with God when His Son reconciled us by laying down His life, then how much more will we be saved by Jesus’ resurrection life?”

There is victory in loving God and loving His children. Luke 10:27 “You shall love—‘love the Eternal One your God with everything you have: all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind’ — and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”

You have been given power on earth to change things. 2 Timothy 1:7 “You see, God did not give us a cowardly spirit but a powerful, loving, and disciplined spirit.”

Claim God’s identity for you, into your life by praying this identity prayer: Heavenly Father, I accept your precious gifts of Jesus’ blood, of your everlasting love, of a place in heaven, of power over darkness. I reject the lie that your good gifts are not for me. I accept everything you are, into my spirit, into my soul, into my heart.
